t’s been about three years since I started exclusively using Google Chrome as my web browser. And, while there are quite a few things I like about Chrome, Chrome Extensions are the absolute highlight of the Google Chrome experience. Here are my favorite extensions of all time.
Teleparty, previously known as Netflix Party
I feel like I talk about this one so often, but I’m obsessed! I love this extension! As someone who’s been in a long distance relationship for two years, this extension has been a lifesaver. Teleparty is an extension that allows you to watch and chat with friends while watching Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, or your favorite streaming platform. Not only is this extension super useful, it’s also really fun! Especially in the time we’re living in right now, it’s nice to connect with real people in technological ways.
Momentum
Momentum is so beautiful and truly brightens my day since I spend all day at the computer. My best explanation of what Momentum is that it is a screen cover for your Chrome. It displays the time, the weather of your location, links, a quote, and a beautiful picture of a landscape that’s constantly changing. I love opening tabs on Chrome and seeing a beautiful landscape every single time. For whatever reason, it truly boosts my mood!
Grammarly
Grammarly has absolutely changed my life. Grammarly is an extension that proofreads your writing for you. As a student and a constant writer, I am always looking for the best technique to proofread my writing. Grammarly is absolutely unbeatable. I do have the premium subscription and would recommend it to anyone who’s in school or works in a job that requires you to write a lot! It truly makes my life so much easier!!
Dark Mode
Dark Mode is a little less useful but I still love it! Dark Mode allows you to change any website into the Apple “dark mode”. I love doing this especially when I’m looking at something while in front of my Zoom camera because sometimes the harsh blue light really affects the way I look. Or I use it at night so that I’m able to wind down a little bit more than staring at the bright white. Overall, I love this extension.
Volume Booster
This is a very practical, useful Chrome extension. If you’re ever watching some thing and it’s a little too quiet, you can turn on volume booster and boost the volume that is emitted from your speaker. It’s especially helpful if you’re trying to play music from your computer with friends and don’t have a speaker! I find myself using this so often. I would highly recommend.
