t is almost officially autumn! While it’s still 90 degrees most days in Los Angeles where I live, I am already ready for the fall fashion trends of this year. Even if the only place people will see my outfits is on social media, I am so excited about the fall fashion of this year. There are so many fun trends to follow and chose from so I’ve picked some of my favorites so you can pick up some fall staples before the Autumn equinox!
Oversized, Long Leather Jackets
I keep seeing oversized, long leather jackets everywhere and I love them. The way that most people are styling these jackets is over light colored tops and long pants. It’s really mature but still trendy look. If you’re going to run out and grab one of these jackets, I highly recommend getting one in a dark brown or black color so it’s more versatile!
Turtlenecks
Turtlenecks might be the most versatile pieces of the 2020 fall fashion season. Whether you’re wearing them on their own, under a crewneck, under a long leather jacket, or literally any other way, you’re going to be on-trend. If you get one item from this list, it should be a nice quality white, cream, black, or brown turtleneck!
High-Waisted Cream/White Pants
While this look is a little bit out of my personal comfort zone, I think it is so cute. A lot of people are wearing high waisted white (or cream) pants with a turtleneck or basic top and then adding one of the aforementioned oversized, long leather jackets. These pants make any outfit look more High Fashion than if you were to wear the same top and accessories with a pair of jeans. I recommend styling them with a cute chunky heel for a really upscale look!
Sweater Vests
If you’ve been on Pinterest in the past six months, you’ve probably seen 100 sweater vests on every single page. I’ve been seeing sweater vests everywhere and honestly, I’m here for it. People style the sweater baths with a T-shirt or a collared shirt under them. However, you can also wear them on their own as a standalone top. My favorite versions of these vests are the plain gray style and red argyle.
Fun, Over Sized Sweaters
Lots of people will be rocking fun, printed, knit sweaters this fall. You can get brighter colors for this trend than the normal “autumnal” sweaters. My favorite one at the moment is from Kina and Tam. I think these sweaters look so cute with tennis skirts or jeans on the bottom!
Chunky, Gold Jewelry
This is a trend that has been pretty apparent through all of 2020, but I truly never want it to end! Chunky gold jewelry has been a staple of 2020 and will continue to be during the fall fashion season. I’m especially obsessed with chunky gold hoops and gold chains!
